Who is learning?
Optional pronunciation recordings — parent permission
Lessons work without recordings. With permission, recordings and pronunciation results are kept for up to 90 days, only to support this learner’s learning. We keep at most 50 recordings; older ones are removed. You can withdraw permission or delete recordings here.
Microsoft’s processing is separate from our 90-day app storage. Review Microsoft’s privacy statement before agreeing. Permission is optional and is never selected automatically.
When adding a new learner, checked permissions above apply to that new learner only after password confirmation.
Progress is separate for each learner. Additional profiles start free; prices remain per learner.
Parent controls: export or clear learning data
These controls apply only to the selected learner. Enter the account password. Downloads may contain private learning preferences; keep them somewhere private.
Clear learning data removes this learner’s lesson progress, checks, preferences and session history. It keeps the learner profile, account and billing records.
SMALL STEPS. BIG CONVERSATIONS.
Listen. Speak.
Grow through stories.
Start with listening and respectful conversation. Build toward understanding reports and presenting a clear Hindi bulletin. Learn Hindi script later, or choose it whenever you want.
Choose a learner and start a guided listening-and-speaking session. Hindi script stays optional. Pause anytime or choose a second session.
YOUR NEXT LITTLE ADVENTURE
Hello, explorer!
A friendly elephant has a very unusual visitor. Listen, try a little Hindi, and help the story along.
One little chapter at a time. You can stop whenever you need.
You can speak, point, gesture or use your communication aid.

Your speaking-first path
Use your ears first, then respond in your own way. Audio, pictures, English meaning and optional Romanized Hindi can help. Hindi script is not a prerequisite.
- Start / continue speakingListen, try a short phrase and revisit it in your guided session.
- Everyday conversationsAsk for what you need, repair a misunderstanding, and explain experiences or opinions.
- Understand reportsListen for the event, numbers, source and uncertainty before retelling.
- Newsroom speakingBuild a clear bulletin and answer follow-up questions. Practise with unfamiliar material and a Hindi-speaking reviewer.
- Then: Learn Hindi script · optionalConnect familiar spoken words to letters, reading and writing. Available at any time; no speaking certificate is required.
Course completion records practice. Demonstrated advanced speaking requires assessment of unfamiliar tasks by a qualified Hindi-speaking reviewer.
Listen and understand
Begin with familiar sounds, directions and meaning checks. Use replay and optional support, then build toward longer reports. A matching answer is evidence of comprehension, not a speaking score.
Next: understand reportsLearn Hindi script · optional
This separate reading-and-writing track comes after the advanced speaking path in our recommended sequence. You can also explore it now. Reading scores do not determine your speaking progress.
Return to speakingUse familiar spoken words to explore letters, written words and sentences. Captions and written communication remain available wherever they help.
After advanced speaking: connect sounds to script
Ready to explore how familiar Hindi sounds are written? Reading and writing are an optional next track, separate from your spoken-language evidence.

Choose an activity for extra listening and speaking, or return to your next guided session. Reading and writing have their own optional track.
Try your Hindi beyond the lesson
Choose one phrase you have already practised. No new vocabulary is needed.
- Listen to the phrase again and check its meaning.
- Use it in a pretend conversation with someone, a toy, or on your own. You may point, gesture or use your communication aid.
- Change one detail if you feel ready, or repeat the original.
This is optional practice, not a scored speaking assessment. You do not need to record yourself or have a partner.
Choose a familiar phraseYour adventure
Listen, try and play in little five-minute chapters. Stop at a story break, or choose to continue toward a 30-minute session. Take longer whenever you need.
Your place is saved. Continue now or come back later.
A second session is optional, now or later. Familiar language returns before more is introduced. You can answer by speaking, pointing, gesture or your communication aid. No microphone is required.
Find my starting point
Choose a comfortable starting point. Age is not a test of ability. You can explore harder material without losing earlier practice. These short checks recognise meanings; they do not grade speaking or diagnose learning differences.
Earlier due phrases still return. New phrases wait while known phrases need more practice. Faster choices never award mastery or skip weak-word review. A parent can change this selection.
Try a low-pressure meaning check
No microphone or timer. Choose a harder topic if the current one feels familiar. Pointing, keyboard selection or your usual communication method are welcome. Unfamiliar English answer text may affect results; use help and mark the attempt as supported.

How I learn best
Choose what makes practice comfortable. You do not need to share a diagnosis. You can change these at any time.
Optional: find a comfortable setup
Try these choices yourself. This is not a test or a check for a condition. Nothing is saved until you choose Use these choices. Skip it and keep learning whenever you like.
A friendly elephant brings a tiny umbrella. Read at your own pace.
Choice A: umbrella ☂ · Choice B: cup ☕
Words and symbols identify each choice; you never need to distinguish colors alone.
Captions add reading support. Extra time removes automatic progression in guided practice. Your response choice never requires speech. These choices can work together and do not change your learning goals.
Sound-off mode waits for you to continue after each caption. It counts as reading-supported practice, not unaided listening. You can turn written supports back on whenever needed.
This optional challenge only hides the English meaning during guided practice. Directions and captions stay available. Restore meanings whenever helpful; this choice does not prove proficiency or change your level.
More often shortens the next review gap after you choose Remembered, with the next scheduled review at least one day later. You can practise whenever you choose. Existing dates stay unchanged until you rate a phrase again. This does not change your level, learning goals or new-word pace; change it back at any time.
These settings change presentation and response prompts, not your learning goals. Showing text is supported practice, not a test of unaided recall. Other activities may still have their own prompts; speech is always optional.
Signed-in choices stay with this learner. Guest choices last only in this tab. Display options at the top also provide text size and high contrast.
Short phrase practice
Listen, try a response in a way that works for you, then tell us how it went. We will bring familiar phrases back before adding a new one.
A gentle start: one new phrase at most per day, with familiar phrases repeated. Practise remembering on separate days before adding more. Try a short 5–10 minute visit; stopping early is fine. Sign in to save your place across visits and devices. Guest progress stays in this browser.

117 units · 351 guided practice sessions. Each unit has three sessions to revisit on separate days. Sessions may take several short visits; there is no deadline or guaranteed proficiency level.
Start with Level 1. Keep each visit short, repeat when needed, and practise with a Hindi-speaking adult. Level numbers describe this course; they are not a proficiency certificate or an equivalence claim for another provider.
Let’s have a little conversation
Choose an adventure, speak aloud, and bring earlier phrases back between new turns.
This guide follows your choices and your self-assessment. It does not listen to or grade your speech. Say your answer before revealing the model. The thinking-time and Hindi-speed controls also apply here. Account progress is saved after each rated turn.

Today’s session
All three sessions for this unit
Practise in order, but explore any unit. Checkpoints record practice, not certified proficiency. Ask a Hindi-speaking adult to listen when possible.
Language notes and model sentences
Adult-guided practice with real news
When the learner can retell the practice reports, an adult can choose a suitable 20–30 second Hindi weather, science, culture or sports segment from Akashvani’s official bulletins. Preview it first and choose respectful speech; general news may contain upsetting topics.
- Listen once without text and identify the main topic.
- Listen again for who, what, where, when, numbers and the named source.
- Explain three new words in simple Hindi. Compare everyday wording with the formal wording.
- Retell the report from three keywords, then answer an unexpected question from the adult.
- Revisit the same topic the next day with a different speaker or report. Gradually extend to one minute, then several minutes.
Do not copy a presenter’s identity or accent. Aim for accurate facts, understandable speech and a calm, clear delivery.
Check understanding, then speak
Repeat successfully on three different days to mark a unit practised. Speak from new details each time. News passages are fictional learning examples, not current news. Use the recording controls above to replay your voice; no automatic pronunciation grade is given.
